Enhancements​

  • Don't show a post type in the Bulk editor if Enable SEO controls and assessments is turned off for that post type.
  • Introduces 2 new Yoast Abilities, to allow agents to get and update SEO data for given posts.

Bugfixes​

  • Adds a notice to the bulk editor explaining that no content types are available when Enable SEO controls and assessments is disabled for all post types, with a link to the settings page.
  • Fixes a bug where a rest_invalid_content_type error would be logged in the browser console when opening the bulk editor while Enable SEO controls and assessments was disabled for all post types.

Other​

  • Adds two new cards for the Schema aggregator and the WordPress abilities API features.
  • Adjust the name and description of the setting's toggle controlling the breadcrumbs' rendering to state clearly its intended behaviour.

  • Fixes a bug where the SEO data optimization would loop endlessly when an indexing batch was repeatedly returned without being processed.

Yoast SEO 28.4 makes the Bulk editor easier to access by adding a Bulk edit option to the Posts and Pages sections of the WordPress dashboard. This allows you to quickly access the Bulk editor after selecting the posts or pages you want to optimize. Read the full release post here.

  • Improves the performance of generating XML sitemaps by warming post, term and featured-image caches in bulk.

Bugfixes​

  • Fixes a bug where the AI Content Planner inserted an empty paragraph block before the template blocks when a post type had a block template registered.

  • Sets the minimum supported WordPress version to 6.9.

  • Fixes a bug where the overall SEO score was lowered when the focus keyphrase did not consist of function words only. Props to @faisalahammad.
  • Fixes a bug where an uncaught fatal error was thrown in the post editor on sites using the OAuth connection to MyYoast, when the AUTH_KEY salt in wp-config.php was set to a non-string value.

  • Adds a Yoast ability for retrieving scores for Yoast analyses for recent posts, using the Abilities API.
  • Adds Qatar to the list of available countries for the Semrush related keyphrase suggestions.

Bugfixes​

  • Fixes a bug where the AI Generator's "Generate with AI" feature failed after a site's domain was changed, because stale callback URLs remained registered with the Yoast API from the original domain.

Other​

  • Introduces a performance increase when calculating if the SEO optimization is completed for internal links. Props to @adconecto.
